Laser, IPL & corrective skin treatments

Precision laser and intense pulsed light therapy for hair, vascular concerns, pigment, acne, scars, and pore size — calibrated by our physician-led laser team in Lake Oswego, with more than two decades of combined laser experience.

The Premier Difference

Laser care, calibrated to you

Laser and IPL technology can transform skin — but only when matched to the right patient, the right protocol, and the right hands. Every visit begins with a thorough consultation so we can recommend the most appropriate path for your skin, your concerns, and your goals.

Physician-led care

Treatments are guided by our physician-led team, with more than two decades of cosmetic and laser experience and signature protocols including LaserLift™.

Modern, advanced platforms

Our Harmony XL Pro and complementary laser and IPL systems are selected for comfort, precision, and the ability to treat a broad range of skin types — not a one-size-fits-all menu.

Honest expectations

Lasers reduce, refine, and rejuvenate — they are not magic. We build realistic, written plans together so you know how many sessions, what to expect, and when to consider an alternative.

Treatments

Six laser & light services

Explore each treatment in depth, then schedule a consultation to build the right combination for your skin.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal

Long-lasting hair reduction across the face and body using our Harmony XL Pro SHR (Super Hair Removal) laser — comfortable, fast, and designed to work across a wide range of skin types.

What it addresses

  • Unwanted hair on the face — upper lip, chin, sideburns, neck, ears
  • Underarms, chest, back, abdomen, arms, and legs
  • Bikini and Brazilian areas
  • Maintenance and touch-up packages for ongoing smoothness

How it works

The Harmony SHR laser uses an in-motion sweeping technique that gradually heats hair follicles instead of delivering a single intense pulse, which makes treatment more comfortable while still disabling actively growing follicles. Because only hairs in their active growth phase respond to a given session, a course of treatments is needed to thin and reduce hair across an area.

What to expect

A cooling gel is applied to the treatment area and the laser handpiece glides across the skin. Most patients describe the sensation as mild warmth — far gentler than single-pulse devices. Smaller areas like the upper lip take only minutes; larger areas like the back take around 30 minutes. You can return to your day immediately afterward, with normal sun protection.

Sessions & results

Most patients complete a series of approximately 6–10 sessions for full results, with the exact number depending on hair color, density, area, and skin type. Maintenance sessions are recommended as needed to keep results looking their best.

IPL Photofacial

IPL Photofacial for Rosacea, Redness & Sun Damage

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) addresses the most visible signs of sun-damaged and reactive skin — diffuse redness, broken capillaries, brown spots, and uneven tone — without ablating the surface.

What it addresses

  • Rosacea-related flushing and persistent facial redness
  • Visible blood vessels and broken capillaries
  • Sun spots, freckles, and areas of hyperpigmentation
  • Overall uneven skin tone and dullness

How it works

IPL is not a single-wavelength laser — it is a broad-spectrum light device that emits intense pulses absorbed more readily by darker-pigmented cells and by the hemoglobin in tiny visible vessels. That selective heating helps fragment unwanted pigment and seal off small vessels so the body can clear them naturally, while also triggering collagen-stimulating responses in the surrounding skin.

What to expect

A handheld device is moved across the skin and each pulse is often described as a brief, warm snap. A typical session takes about 45 minutes. Treated skin may feel sun-warmed afterward, with mild redness or temporary swelling that resolves on its own. Strict sun protection after treatment is essential — UV exposure can compromise results and irritate freshly treated skin.

Sessions & results

Most patients see continued improvement over the weeks following each visit as pigmented spots flake away and vessels are reabsorbed. A series of sessions is typically recommended; we map out the exact plan together at your consultation based on your skin and goals.

Facial Vein Treatment

Laser Facial Vein Treatment

A non-invasive, in-office laser treatment to address visible facial and neck veins — the small, web-shaped red lines that develop just beneath the skin’s surface — with no downtime.

What it addresses

  • Visible spider veins on the cheeks, nose, and chin
  • Small broken capillaries on the face and neck
  • Vascular concerns linked to genetics, sun exposure, or rosacea

How it works

A focused beam of laser energy is delivered directly into the targeted vessel. The energy is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the vein, gently sealing it from the inside so the body can reabsorb it over time. Surrounding skin is left intact. Because each vein responds individually, results build over a series of sessions.

What to expect

You are comfortably seated while the laser is applied to each visible vessel. Most patients describe a mild tingling rather than pain. Treatment time can range from a few minutes for a single vessel to roughly an hour for broader concerns, and you can return to normal activities immediately afterward.

Sessions & results

The number of visits depends on how many veins are treated, their size, and the size of the treatment area — we build a customized treatment plan during your consultation so you know exactly what to expect.

Laser Acne Treatment

Laser Acne Treatment

A multi-modality acne program built around two FDA-approved lasers, complemented by microdermabrasion and a curated SkinCeuticals® home-care regimen for clearer, calmer skin.

What it addresses

  • Active inflammatory acne and recurring breakouts
  • Oily skin and congestion from overactive sebaceous glands
  • Post-acne texture and shallow acne scarring

How it works

We typically pair two different FDA-approved lasers: a YAG-wavelength laser that penetrates to the sebaceous glands to help calm oil production and gently resurface scarred areas, and a complementary laser that targets surface debris and triggers collagen renewal. Microdermabrasion is often added to exfoliate the surface and open pores ahead of laser treatment, making each session more effective.

What to expect

Each visit begins with a thorough cleanse, followed by microdermabrasion when indicated, then the laser portion of treatment. Sessions are well tolerated and you can return to normal activity right away. New acne patients receive a complimentary SkinCeuticals® LHA cleanser, toner, and serum to extend results at home.

Sessions & results

Acne treatment is delivered as a planned series rather than a single visit. Many patients enjoy long remissions; others benefit from routine maintenance, and a small number do not respond to laser therapy — which is why an in-person consultation with our clinical team is the right starting point.

Laser Scar Reduction

Laser Scar Reduction

Non-invasive laser treatment to soften the appearance of acne, surgical, and injury-related scarring — improving texture, tone, and confidence without the downtime of surgical revision.

What it addresses

  • Acne scars with a dimpled or pitted appearance
  • Hypertrophic scars from injury or trauma
  • Surgical scars and contracture scars from burns
  • Stretch marks and other indented or discolored skin changes

How it works

Laser energy is delivered into the scarred tissue to either remove the outer, scarred layer or stimulate the growth of new, healthier collagen beneath. The result is a smoother surface and a more even tone over time. Because every scar is different — by type, age, and location — your treatment plan is individualized at consultation.

What to expect

Scar reduction treatments are non-invasive with little to no downtime. Many patients also report softening of pain or itchiness around the scar and improved range of motion in tightened areas, in addition to cosmetic improvement.

Sessions & results

Results build over a series of sessions. We are upfront that lasers reduce the visibility of scarring rather than guarantee its complete removal — your consultation establishes realistic goals based on the type and severity of your scars.

Laser Pore Reduction

Laser Pore Reduction

A non-ablative laser protocol that refines the appearance of enlarged pores by stimulating collagen and gently tightening the upper dermis — no surface ablation, no downtime.

What it addresses

  • Enlarged or stretched facial pores
  • Loss of firmness contributing to visible pore size
  • Uneven texture from sun damage, acne history, or aging

How it works

A non-ablative laser gently heats the upper layer of the dermis to stimulate new collagen production. As collagen rebuilds, the skin tightens around each pore, which makes pores appear smaller and the surface smoother. Because the outer layer of skin is left intact, the treatment is comfortable and requires no recovery time.

What to expect

Treatment is performed in-office with no downtime. The laser handpiece is moved over the targeted areas and most patients are able to return to normal activities — including makeup and skincare — the same day, following the post-treatment guidance we provide.

Sessions & results

Most patients see optimal results from a series of approximately five treatments, with the exact number tailored to your skin and goals during consultation.

Frequently asked

Common questions

How do I know which laser treatment is right for me?

Every laser visit at Premier Med Spa of Lake Oswego begins with a personalized consultation. Our clinical team reviews your skin, goals, and medical history, then recommends the treatment — or combination of treatments — that is most appropriate. Not every laser is right for every patient, and we will tell you directly if a different approach will serve you better.

Is laser treatment painful?

Comfort varies by treatment, skin sensitivity, and area. Our Harmony XL Pro SHR laser is designed to be virtually painless for hair removal. IPL is often described as a brief, warm snap, and facial vein and pore treatments are generally well tolerated. We will walk through what each session feels like before you begin.

Is there downtime after a laser treatment?

Most of our laser and IPL treatments are designed with little to no downtime. Mild redness, warmth, or short-term sensitivity after treatment is common and resolves on its own. We always recommend strict sun protection for treated skin and will give you specific aftercare guidance for each visit.

How many sessions will I need?

Most laser protocols are delivered as a series rather than a single visit. Laser hair removal is typically 6–10 sessions, laser pore reduction is generally about five sessions, and other treatments are personalized to your concern and skin response. Your consultation includes a realistic, written plan.

Can laser treatments be combined with other services?

Yes — many patients pair laser care with treatments like LaserLift™, HydraFacial, Morpheus8, or Botox® Cosmetic. We sequence treatments thoughtfully so that each one supports the next, rather than competing.

Are laser treatments safe for darker skin tones?

Our Harmony XL Pro platform is selected in part for its ability to treat a broad range of skin types safely. Candidacy for a specific treatment still depends on your individual skin, hair, and medical history — which is exactly what your consultation is designed to evaluate.
